McDonalds never aimed for the BEST culinary experience. What they did aim for is consistancy, no matter which McDonalds you go to, you can get damn near the same experience every time, chicken nuggets are usually good, burgers are good etc. they consistently deliver a good enough burger, so its always kinda good… not great but good enough. And at least in the past that "good enough" was also matched with cheap and fast.
so people coming home from work see a McDonalds and think.. I don't feel like cooking, McD's is good enough I'll get that. Is it healthy… nope, but its good enough for now, won't cost much and ill be on my way fast… easy enough.

Any more you don't go to McDonald's for Speed either. Last few times I've gone to McDonald's I've waited a minimum 20 minutes for my order no matter how simple or complicated it is. And if you're a doordash or Uber driver prepare to wait up to 40 minutes to get your order

Mcdonalds burgers do not rot if left out for a long period of time. They are full of so many preservatives that they mummify!
They're not even fast anymore. I was always waiting over 15 mins at the drive-thru, no matter which one I go. Result is that I'll starve before going there again and I did not eat more than once because I don't let a scam benefit from my resources.
Its efficiency, convenience and consistency is what makes McDonalds so successful.

The real estate they occupy in each location is minimal. Their restaurants aren’t walmart sized. The parking lots are bigger than the actual stores
